What Is Your Niche?
According to entrepreneur.com, niche marketing is described as a portion of a market that you’ve identified as having some special characteristic and that’s worth marketing to.
Let’s face it, as an upper cervical chiropractor you’re different, and that’s a good thing. Some would call it your unique differentiating value. Upper cervical is unlike any other health care approach on the planet. And because you are so different you’re able to help people that no one else is able to help.
Now you will always see people with back pain, neck pain and headaches, but that is not your niche. You will see people with those problems because you’re chiropractor and that is how our culture perceives you.
But what about the person that is struggling with multiple sclerosis, TMJ, post-concussion syndrome, newborns with acid reflux, migraines and other conditions? As an upper cervical doctor you’ve seen amazing results with all sorts of different problems, and your target market or niche should reflect that, because they need your help and if you don’t tell them via the Internet they are likely to never know.
So here are 3 steps to take to identify your niche and take steps to begin to reach them.
Make a Wish List
What type of patients do you want to see more of?
Be as specific as you can: Identify the geographical range and the types of people you want your upper cervical practice to target. If you don’t know whom you want to do business with, you can’t make contact.
Just saying you want more new patients is not good enough. The more specific you are the more targeted you can be to reach your niche.
Bad niche: I want to help more people who have headaches
Good niche: I want to help more people who have migraines headaches who are seeking a natural drug-free solution, who are 25 to 45-year-old women who live in Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside , or San Marcos, Californiaand have a college education
Now that you have a clear target you can begin to develop your niche chiropractic marketing strategy.
Describe the Patient’s Worldview
When you look at the world from your prospective patient’s perspective, you can identify their needs or wants. The best way to do this is to talk to existing and prospective patients and identify their main concerns.
The better you understand your prospective patient’s perspective, the more likely you are to be able to connect with them. Then you can begin to figure out where they go and what they do on the Internet.
Present Upper Cervical As the Solution
Once you understand your niche, the next step is to develop Internet marketing approaches that connect with that target market.
Remember the basics of your Internet marketing program should include:
The more you focus all of these assets in the direction of your niche, the more effective your Internet marketing campaign will be.
