Upper Cervical Directories
Previously in this blog we discussed the importance of having structured citations (name, address and phone number) on as many directories as possible. But there are some directories that are important not only for search engine optimization but also because they are a great source of qualified new patients.
There are several types of upper cervical directories available including:
- Technique Directories
- Advocate Directories
- General Upper Cervical Directories
Directories for individual techniques would include NUCCA, Atlas Orthogonal, Knee Chest, Blair, Orthospinology, Advanced Orthogonal, QSM3 etc. If you practice one of these techniques I highly recommend that you become a member if you are not already and that you are listed in their directory. Just one example is NUCCA which is the most searched for upper cervical related keyword on Google. If you practice NUCCA make sure that you are keeping your membership in good standing not only for the fact that it will help you to be a better doctor but also so you can be listed in their directory and receive patients who are specifically looking for a NUCCA Doctor in your area. This would also apply to other techniques as well. Here is a list of some of the main upper cervical technique directories for your convenience:
The next directory to focus on one created by upper cervical advocate Greg Buchanan. This website is fantastic for third-party endorsement of what you do. Make sure that you are listed on this important directory.
General Upper Cervical Directories
And lastly, you want to be listed on general upper cervical directories such as uppercervicalcare.com and upper-cervical.com. Uppercervicalcare.com is especially important as it shows up on the first page of Google for a variety of upper cervical related keywords. You can become an affiliate with them for only $75 per month you want a link to your website or $20 if you just want your phone number.
You will then be listed on their website www.uppercervicalcare.com and have some other benefits as well. You can find out more about their affiliate program here. Dr. Ian Bulow also has a very comprehensive directory of upper cervical doctors on his website as well. I believe you have to be in good standing with your technique certification in order to appear on his directory.

How to List Your Practice
It is important that you list your practice on these directories the same way that Google has you listed (you also want to make sure that your website lists you the same way). Make sure you include:
- Name (Dr. John Smith)
- Practice Name (Smith Spinal Care)
- Phone Number
Going through the process of getting listed on as many of these directories as possible will provide you with back links and other search engine optimization benefits but most importantly qualified patients who are looking specifically for upper cervical.
