Use Referral Statements

Dr. Jon Baker of New Beginnings Chiropractic and Life Coaching was on episode 28 of the podcast and shared the importance of using referral statements on every visit with every patient.

Basically, the focus of every visit should be on education, communicating progress and talking about referrals. If this is an area you need to work on, just click the link above and listen to the podcast with Dr. Baker.

Dominate Online

According to our 2016 Upper Cervical Practice Survey, the number one way that upper cervical doctors are attracting new patients externally is from online marketing.

We have a ton of information about online marketing on this website but the most important thing to understand is that a comprehensive online marketing program should have both a focus on awareness and reputation on a consistent basis.

If this is a weak area for your practice I would suggest getting a market analysis and blueprint from our team in order to determine exactly what is necessary to succeed online in your area.

Train Your Team

One of the best ways that you can market your practice is by regularly investing in your team. Your Associates, chiropractic assistants and office manager can be your greatest advocates for generating referrals.

We did an interview several years ago with Dr. Larry Arbeitman about how he connects his team member’s individual goals with the practice goals for incredible results.

We also did an interview on the podcast with Dr. Jamie Cramer that talks about how she invested her team to promote excellence that is phenomenal at understanding this topic as well.

If this is an area and you need to work on feel free to click either of the links above to learn more.

Build an Integrated Network of Health Professionals

Other health professionals can be fantastic referral sources for your practice but it is important to understand that building these relationships takes time and needs to be a win-win.

Dr. Jeff Scholten has discussed how to generate professional referrals professionally several times on the website to learn more just click the links.

Do a Consistent Healthcare Class

A new patient healthcare class is one of the most effective ways to build a practice. You can help a new patient understand where true health comes from and how upper cervical and specifically your office is equipped to help them reach their health goals in 30 to 60 minutes. It is a terrific way to improve patient compliance, patient education, and create referrals.

Dr. Corinne Weaver in episode five of the chiropractic podcast talked about how she does a variety of classes in her practice and has built an incredible practice as a result of it. Also, Dr. Terry McCoskey talked about how he built an all-cash practice through internal events including healthcare classes in episode 25 of the podcast.

Serve in Your Area

One of the best ways that you can grow your practice is just by meeting people consistently. One of the most effective ways to do this is through serving. Whether you are serving in your church or another community organization such as the Rotary, this is a fantastic way to get to know more people in the community and connect with others that may need your help while at the same time doing important work that matters.

Create Engaging Internal Events

Internal marketing events including patient appreciation days, food drives, backpack drives, toy drives etc. can be effective ways to give back to your community and generate new patients.

In a blog post I wrote years ago called the best internal marketing event I ever did I broke down exactly how I did an Upper Cervical Awareness Event in my practice utilizing an outside speaker. If you are looking to generate more new patients this is an excellent way to do so.

Survey Local Business Owners

Surveying local business owners is a great way to generate new patients and at the same time gain some valuable business experience.

This is how you do it:

  • Meet other business owners in the area
  • Invite them to lunch, coffee, or just have a conversation in their business
  • Learn more about them and their business and about doing business in your community
    • What has worked for them
    • What hasn’t worked
    • Who else should you meet

This can be a valuable experience and as you are inquisitive and learn more about them they will naturally want to know more about you and your practice as well and you can help them understand your unique upper cervical approach.

Get Great Results and Promote Them

Focusing on your technique and making sure that you are doing your very best to give your patients the best results possible is a very effective marketing strategy. But once they get great results it’s important that you capture that information and create a culture of social proof in your practice.

Generating online reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, health grades, rate MD’s and other review sites is a very important part of not only online marketing but also converting referrals on an ongoing basis. In fact, this was the number one strategy recommended by 10 chiropractic Internet marketing experts recently on our website.

Along with online reviews, it is also important to capture video testimonials on a regular basis and know how to promote those video testimonials on Facebook, YouTube, and your website. Once again if you want to learn how to create both awareness and a positive reputation so you can convert tons of new patients via the Internet contact us for a market analysis and blueprint.

Speak in Your Community

The last chiropractic marketing tip we are going to discuss today is speaking in your community. Lunch and learns and other talks can be extremely effective ways to generate new patients. There are many doctors who have utilized this effectively including Dr. Justin Brown who we have interviewed and have on the podcast on episode 15. If you want to learn more about speaking events I recommend you check out those links.

Hopefully, these 10 Chiropractic Marketing Ideas have got your wheels turning on how you can better promote your upper cervical practice in 2017 and beyond.
